Alice Gross

Alice Gross was a 14-year-old girl from Hanwell whose life was tragically taken in August 2014.

She is remembered as a bright, caring and much-loved young girl, she had her whole future ahead of her. Her disappearance and murder devastated her family, friends and the wider community and her mother has since campaigned tirelessly to improve public safety and prevent similar tragedies.

Alice went missing on 28 August 2014 and was found a month later in the Grand Union Canal, she had been murdered by Arnis Zalkalns, a Latvian man who had previously been convicted of killing his wife in Latvia before moving to the United Kingdom.

Following a nationwide manhunt, Zalkalns was found dead from suicide before he could be brought to trial.

Rest in peace Alice. You will not be forgotten.
