Anthony Banting was a 57-year-old man from Birmingham whose life was tragically taken in March 2017.
He is deeply mourned by his family and friends and is remembered with great love and affection by all who knew him. Known as a devoted father and grandfather, he was a warm and well-loved man whose presence meant a great deal to those around him.
He was murdered by Sudanese asylum seeker Alaeldien Ahmed on 31 March 2017 at Soho Benson Road tram stop in Winson Green, after getting off a tram on his way to meet his son.
He was stabbed 50 times. Ahmed has been found guilty of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Rest in peace Anthony. You will not be forgotten.
