Ben Kinsella

Ben Kinsella, a 16-year-old student from Islington, north London, was stabbed to death on 29 June 2008 while walking home after celebrating the end of his GCSE exams with friends. 

He was chased and cornered by three older teenagers — Jade Braithwaite, Michael Alleyne, and Juress Kika — who were members of the local Market Massiv’ street gang.

The unprovoked attack, which lasted just seconds, left Ben with 11 stab wounds to his chest and back after an earlier unrelated argument in a bar.

All three killers were convicted of murder at the Old Bailey in June 2009 and each sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 19 years.
