Catherine Burke, a 55-year-old Irish woman and retired civil servant, was murdered in her own home in Muswell Hill in November 2017. She was bound, gagged and stabbed multiple times in a sexually motivated attack.
Her killer was Kasim Lewis, of Montserrat origin, the same offender who murdered Iuliana Tudos just weeks later.
Lewis was already serving life for the first murder when he confessed to Catherine’s killing. He received a further life sentence with a minimum term of 40 years.
