Christina Edkins was a 16-year-old schoolgirl from Birmingham whose life was tragically taken in March 2013.
She was on her way to school on what should have been an ordinary morning when she became the victim of a random and unprovoked attack. Christina is deeply missed by her family and friends and is remembered as a bright, kind and much-loved young woman with her whole future ahead of her.
She was murdered on 7 March 2013 while travelling on a bus into Birmingham city centre, having been stabbed without warning by Phillip Simelane, a Swaziland-born man who came to Britain with his family at the age of nine.
Simelane was later convicted of her murder and detained indefinitely in a high-security psychiatric hospital.
Rest in peace Christina. You will not be forgotten.
