Henry Nowak was an 18-year-old University of Southampton student whose life was tragically taken on 3 December 2025.

While walking home after a night out with friends, Henry was attacked and fatally stabbed by Vickrum Digwa, a 23-year-old Sikh man from Southampton.

After the attack, Digwa falsely told attending police officers that he had been the victim of a racist assault. As a result, despite repeatedly telling officers that he had been stabbed and could not breathe, Henry was initially handcuffed and treated as a suspect while suffering fatal injuries.

Digwa was later convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Henry is remembered by his family and friends as a kind, intelligent and ambitious young man with his whole future ahead of him. His memory lives on in those who knew and loved him.

Rest in peace Henry. You will not be forgotten.
