Jimmy Mizen

Jimmy Mizen was a gentle, well-loved 16-year-old schoolboy from Lee whose life was tragically taken on 10 May 2008, the day after his sixteenth birthday. A committed Christian, devoted son and much-loved brother. Jimmy was known for his kindness, warmth and peaceful nature.

Friends and family remembered him as a young man who avoided trouble, treated others with respect and had a bright future ahead of him. His death devastated his family and shocked communities across Britain.

Jimmy was killed inside a bakery in Lee after a trivial dispute escalated into violence.

Jake Fahri, a 19-year-old man of mixed British and Caribbean heritage with a history of violent offending, threw a heavy glass dish which shattered and severed major blood vessels in Jimmy’s neck.

Jimmy died shortly afterwards in his brother’s arms. Fahri was later convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 14 years.

Rest in peace Jimmy. You will not be forgotten.
