William McKeeney was a 57-year-old Irish labourer, a hardworking man from Donegal who had settled in Glasgow. He was attacked near his home on Melville Street, Pollokshields on 15 January 2012 and beaten to death in a prolonged and savage assault by Asif Rehman, and Adel Ishaq, both of Pakistani origin.
He was punched, kicked and stamped on repeatedly, suffering injuries so severe that footprints were left on his head. He died in hospital from his injuries the same day.
His death devastated those closest to him and he continues to be remembered as a much-loved man whose loss is felt deeply by all who knew him.
