Alan Cartwright was a 15-year-old boy from Islington whose life was tragically taken in February 2015. A much-loved son, brother and friend, Alan was an ordinary teenager enjoying an evening bike ride with friends when his future was stolen from him. His death devastated his family and shocked the local community, which remembered him as a kind-hearted young man with his whole life ahead of him.

Alan was riding along Caledonian Road on 27 February 2015 when he and his friends were confronted by a group attempting to steal their bicycles.

During the robbery, he was stabbed in the chest and managed to cycle a short distance before collapsing. He died at the scene shortly afterwards.

Joshua Williams, aged 18, was later convicted of murder and conspiracy to rob. Two accomplices, including Shaquille Roberts, admitted their involvement in the bicycle robbery.

Alan continues to be remembered with great love by those who knew him and his loss is still felt deeply by his family and community.

Rest in peace Alan. You will not be forgotten.
