Daniel Adger

Daniel Adger, a 34-year-old father of two from South Ockendon, Essex, was murdered on 21 August 2017.

He was attacked with a machete inside a property in Eden Green while sitting in a chair. The assault was carried out as part of a conspiracy linked to drug dealing. Adger managed to run outside calling for help, but he sustained severe wounds to his body and head.

Passers-by tried to assist him, but he died later in hospital from his injuries. His killers were Zakaria Lahrar and Daniel Boakye.

Lahrar was found guilty of murder at trial and jailed for life. Boakye admitted the murder and was sentenced to life with a minimum of 11 years and 8 months. Both men conspired in the attack. Luis Jordan was later cleared of murder (and other charges) but jailed for eight years for conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin.
