Phoenix Netts

Phoenix Netts was a 28-year-old woman from Birmingham whose life was tragically taken in April 2020.

Remembered as a much-loved daughter, friend and young woman with a bright future ahead of her, Phoenix was deeply cherished by her family and those who knew her. Her death shocked communities across the country and left an enduring sense of loss among all who cared for her.

Phoenix was murdered on 16 April 2020 by her former roommate, Gareeca Gordon, a Jamaican-born woman, at the house where they were living. Her body was later dismembered, concealed in two suitcases and discovered in woodland in the Forest of Dean in May 2020. Gordon pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 23 years and six months.
