Amy Leigh Barnes, a 19-year-old part-time model, actress, and aspiring WAG from Greater Manchester, was murdered by her boyfriend Ricardo Morrison on 8 November 2008.
Morrison, a 22-year-old football coach, stabbed her repeatedly in the face and chest with a 15cm kitchen knife during a violent argument at the home they shared in Farnworth, near Bolton, Lancashire.
Amy was left dying in a pool of blood; she managed to dial 999 and named Morrison as her attacker before she died. Morrison (originally from Birmingham) had a history of violence against women, including assaults on previous girlfriends and other victims.
He was convicted of murder at Manchester Crown Court in July 2009 and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 24 years.
His mother, a police officer, was cleared of assisting an offender.
Rest in peace Amy. You will not be forgotten.
