Kevin Malloy

Kevin Malloy was a 46-year-old pub landlord and one of the four victims murdered by British spree killer Daniel Gonzalez on September 17 2004.

Around 5:30 a.m. in Tottenham High Road, north London, Gonzalez attacked Malloy with large knives stolen from a department store. Malloy, described as a “gentle giant” who avoided trouble, was out for an early morning walk (or heading home after drinks, per some accounts) when Gonzalez lunged at him, stabbing him repeatedly in the face, neck, chest, and torso.

Gonzalez later bragged about the attack, saying something like “ready, steady, go” before striking. Malloy died from the wounds. This was the second murder in Gonzalez’s spree.

In March 2006 at the Old Bailey, he was convicted of four murders and two attempted murders and given six life sentences with a recommendation that he never be released.

Gonzalez had a history of mental health issues (including schizophrenia) and drug use. He had an English mother and Spanish father, he died by suicide in Broadmoor Hospital in August 2007 at age 27.
