Stuart Lowe

Stuart Lowe

1989 – 2007

Warrington, Cheshire

Stuart Lowe was an 18-year-old from Warrington, Cheshire, who was murdered on 18 October 2007

He was a former junior rugby league player with the Rylands Sharks and had just started an apprenticeship, described as a young man beginning to make his way in the world.

In the early hours after a party at the Bank Quay Social Club, Lowe and his friends were walking home along Sankey Street when they encountered another group. Although Stuart was not involved in an earlier fight at the party, an altercation broke out.

Sibongiseni Majola, who had armed himself with a screwdriver after the initial incident, stabbed Stuart in the head with it and kicked him while he was on the ground.

Stuart suffered severe head injuries and died in hospital a week later on 25 October 2007.

Majola pleaded guilty to murder, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 12 years. In 2015, he failed in a bid to have his earliest release date brought forward.

Rest in peace Stuart. You will not be forgotten.
